Meet the Farmers

Chris the Bear

is the true craftsman of Little Bearfox Farm, bringing the garden and orchard to life with his expertise and passion for growing. He’s deeply committed to the orchard, carefully tending to each apple tree and ensuring it thrives. Chris is also the one behind every structure on the farm, from fences to garden beds, and if something needs fixing, you can count on him to make it happen—whether it’s a broken tool or a new project that needs a creative solution. His hands-on approach keeps everything running smoothly and growing strong, making him the backbone of the farm’s operations. With a mind for building and a heart for gardening, especially when it comes to the orchard, Chris ensures that the farm thrives from the ground up.

Sarah the Fox

is the heart and soul behind the care of all the animals at Little Bearfox Farm, from the sheep and pigs to the chickens and ducks. She’s also right there in the garden, lending a hand wherever needed to help things grow. But that’s not all—Sarah makes sure the farm stays connected with everyone by keeping the website and social media fresh and up to date. Whether it’s sharing exciting farm happenings, new products, or upcoming events, she’s always working to keep the community in the loop. Her efforts online bring the farm's story to life, creating a personal connection that helps bring more people into the Bearfox Farms family.

The Farm

We are Chris and Sarah, two farmers passionate about growing high-quality, nutritious food using regenerative and natural farming practices. On our 10-acre homestead along the Nehalem River in Elsie, Oregon, we grow a diverse selection of 95% heirloom, 100% non-GMO vegetables and fruits—including 21 heirloom tomato varieties, because we LOVE tomatoes! We also raise chickens, ducks, turkeys, geese, sheep, pigs, and rabbits, creating a sustainable, biodiverse farm.
More than just growing food, we are dedicated to giving back. Food insecurity is a real challenge, and we believe fresh, healthy food should be available to everyone. Last year, we donated over 700 pounds of produce to Portland organizations that distribute fresh food to those in need. Our goal is to donate even more this year, and your CSA membership helps us continue this mission.
By joining our CSA, you’re not just receiving fresh, local produce—you’re supporting a small, family-run farm dedicated to sustainability, community, and keeping local agriculture strong.

Join our CSA today and enjoy farm-fresh, sustainably grown produce while helping us make a difference in our community!
