We keep St Croix Hair Sheep.
Sheep Count
- Rams: Paul, Lu and Stormy the wether
- Ewe Plum, Penny, Edith, Matilda, Daisy and Charlie. They should start lambing at the end of October
- 9 little lambs from the last season
Why we chose St Croix Hair Sheep
- They never need to be sheared which makes lower maintenance.
- They have high lambing percentages and are very good mothers.
- They have good milking ability. I am really excited about this one!
- They are hoof rot resistant. We are very wet here and this is a huge plus.
- Their meat is lean with a mild flavor. (so good!)
