CSA Giving Boxes

FROM LITTLE BEARFOX FARM

Help Us Share Food

We love to grow food and want to help lessen food insecurity in our community.

About UsFAQSend a Question

You can help us! You can purchase a box. In the summer, we will give food to groups that will get it to people in need on your behalf. The money you give will help us buy seeds, soil amendments, irrigation, electricity for the greenhouses, etc and help us pay our bills.

Our goal is to donate 10,000 pounds of produce this year.

Each box contains enough produce to feed a family of four for one week. Every week we will deliver as much produce as we can harvest, minus our CSA members, and give it to local organizations.

Food insecurity is a problem. We want to grow high-quality produce and give it to organizations in Portland, Oregon that will get it to people that need it.

Every dollar helps! If you plan on giving $5 or less please use Venmo if you can.

MEET THE FARMERS

I am Sarah, and he is Chris, together since 2015. We had a garden in town and in 2018; we moved to Elsie, Oregon and started farming on our 10 acre property. Growing food for ourselves and for 30 families in our CSA (community supported agriculture). We love to grow food and we are so excited to share that with others.

EXAMPLE OF OUR SUMMER BOXES

This is an example of a box we delivered over the summer.

The produce that we give away will be whatever is ready to harvest that week. We always try to have a balance between leafy greens, salad greens, herbs, root crops, summer fruit crops (tomatoes, squash, eggplant, etc.), and specialty items (turnips, kohlrabi, peppers, apples, etc.)

There will be less to give in the spring and become more abundant in the summer and fall.

FARMER SARAH

I am in charge of collecting eggs and taking care of the animals. I also keep the website and social media up to date.

I will try to save any hurt animal and cry when babies are born.

FARMER CHRIS

Chris is in charge of the garden. He builds all the things and can fix anything.

On the rare chance he isn’t working, you can find him with the dogs, a fire, and listening to music.
